Affiliate marketing is all about pre-selling other peoples products or services. You might be lacking the talent of creating your own product/service, but still you can promote other peoples product/services online by some exclusive means and on every sale (conversion) of the products you promote through your affiliate link, you get a reasonable commission. In case of CPA affiliate marketing you get paid for leads only. Sale is not mandatory. Mind you, whenever you are promoting other peoples product with the mission to sell it, you become an Affiliate and the owner of the product is known as Merchant. You might be knowing all these, but as my blog is for truly beginners who really want to get themselves in the make money online game, I needed to make it clear.
Are you good at selling?
This is truly very important question as far affiliate marketing is concerned. If the answer is yes, there are chances for you. But selling online differs from selling offline. It may be so that you can convince someone (face to face) to buy a product with your salesmanship but the same salesmanship might not work when you do the things online. And if the answer is “NO”, there is still hope for you. You have to learn the strategy and that is the only way out.
Where to get the products to promote?
There are no dearth of affiliate networks on earth, who let you sign up for free and let you promote other peoples product and on every sale they charge both affiliate and the merchant. You should not have any issues with that because you are not giving money from your own pocket. Clickbank and Commission junction are two reliable affiliate network worldwide. Individual Merchant also looks for affiliate in exchange of commissions on sales you make.
How to promote products?
This is something most difficult part of affiliate marketing. There are countless ways to promote but the real pain comes when you try implementing them to get the desired result.

- PPC and Landing Page
Whichever way you go promoting affiliate products, you need to learn internet marketing. Without proper knowledge you should not go ahead.
To sell something to someone you need to build credibility and project yourself as a responsible body. And online reputation or credibility can be achieved by writing excellent useful and relevant content. You have to start helping others to build more credibility. So the first word is content. Then you have to get traffic or visitor to appreciate your content. No traffic no sale no money. Then comes pre-selling, not direct selling. If you become much interested in money only and keep nagging with your damn sales pitch., you are making hell of mistakes. Just pre-sell and try to send your visitors to the merchants website with an open- to- buy attitude.
Suppose you are a blogger or a webmaster and want to conduct affiliate marketing. You got to learn so many things before you can close a single sell. And you must learn to use some tools to do the same.You need to learn keyword research and use tools. Learn SEO to optimize your site or blog for the search engines. You need to know how to pre- sell. You have to have the knowledge of building blogs and websites. You need to know where the competition is lesser and who to sell. And most importantly what to sell.
Until and unless you master the above things, no one is going to buy from you. Keyword research will let you get to know the less competitive niche topics in which you can build your blog or site. If you are not an expert in that niche you can use Private Label Rights ( PLR) contents for that. Best thing you can do is start blogging with a niche you have at least above average knowledge and establish your identity in that niche. Learn to write good copies and promote affiliate products.
List Building and affiliate marketing : List and email marketing works and will keep working. There are ways of building your own lists. Best is you collect them from your blog or website by giving away free ebooks or other useful stuff for free in exchange of signing up for your list. We are not going to elaborate on how you can build your lists. But this is one of the real effective way to conduct affiliate marketing and marketing your own product (if any) as well. As a beginner in affiliate marketing you might find it hard to build your own lists of targeted audiences, do not get disappointed. Making money is never easy. You have to give your best to get the best out of it. It takes time even though you implement proper strategy.
PPC (Pay Per Click) : You can go for PPC campaign to promote affiliate products. Education first and must before you start spending money for clicks and ultimately lose your shirt. Those who have the expertise in AdWords and affiliate marketing are really making big times.
As a beginner affiliate marketer you should research on the subject and learn loads of things as we mentioned earlier. Do not quit if you do not get to see any overnight results. Do not let others to discourage you. Mind you, the greatest pleasure in life in doing what people say you can not do.
